Handheld
Forensic Course - PCME Level 1
Paraben has created a four-day training course that will allow
any examiner to understand the fundamentals of the operating
systems associated with the main PDA devices - Palm, Windows CE,
and RIM Blackberry, common cellular handsets, and a basic
understanding of SIM cards. In addition to this, the course
teaches about the hybrid versions of these devices for
acquisition and analysis. This course also walks you through
practical examinations using Device Seizure, BitPim, Oxygen, and
MOBILedit giving you a comprehensive understanding of how
multiple tools work and how to compare and verify results as
dictated by the forensic process. This course is the first step
for an examiner to become PCME certified.
PDAs and Cellular phones have quickly become a primary source of
evidence. Rarely do you see someone walking around today without
a cell phone. The "line" between a PDA and mobile
phones has quickly blurred to the point where it is difficult to
tell one device from the other. So what does this mean to the
world of forensics? A plethora of mobile forensic evidence.
Paraben's Handheld Forensic Training has been designed to
educate and give examiners practical experience in dealing with
the myriad of handheld devices. Almost all forensic
investigators have attended some type of training that covers
their primary forensic tool. Why wouldnt you do the same
for something as complex as cell phone forensics?
